Arts & Letters Bulletin for 11-5-15

Arts & Letters Bulletin for 11-5-15

The A&L community really came together to show their support for our children and their teachers and raised a whopping $53,990 in collected and pledged monies during our fall fundraising drive!  Over 100 families donated to this drive. And the donations truly represented our diversity...while we had some four figure donations, a lot of the donations ranged from $10 to $200, with a good number at the $120 mark.  And a big thanks those of who also donated your time these past few months either in addition to your financial donation or in lieu of.  It's amazing what we achieve as a group when each of us individually does what we are able to!  See you for the spring fundraising drive (though the donation lines are always open DONATE ONLINE or drop a check off in the purple mailbox inside the door in Room 309 or in the PTA mailbox.

A&L Day Of Service

Nov 24
On November 24th, Arts and Letters is having its first school-wide day of service! Advisories and classes are heading out into the community to lend a helping hand, bond with their classmates, and experience the power of giving back. We could all really benefit from your expertise and connections with community organizations. We are looking for a variety of opportunities for groups of 15 (middle school) and 28 (lower grades classes). Let us know if you have suggestions of sites, connections with organizations, tips, etc. We're excited for this new chapter in Arts and Letters community involvement and welcome all support and suggestions.

Upper Grade Class Parents STILL (Very Much) Needed

Upper grade interests are very much under-represented. We need class parents to make sure 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are given as much access to resources, activities, and information as all the lower grades. You can help to make sure your upper-grader(s) have a voice, by becoming a class parent with a direct line to the PTA. This role can largely be handled via email with the occasional class parent meeting. All other grades are represented. Help to make sure your 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, also have representation. For more info, please contact PTA Co-President, Kimtoya Williams at
